SUBMIT YOUR GUEST POST | WRITE FOR MY FOOD BLOG

If you’re an aspiring food blogger like me, then the best way of getting exposure for your own blog is by becoming a guest blogger. If you have amazing recipe ideas, a food story from your travels, or just want to share something “foodie” with us, then I’d love to hear from you!

WHY SHOULD YOU BECOME A GUEST BLOGGER?

When I first started out as a food blogger, I didn’t have any readers at all. In order to increase organic traffic to my site, I knew I had to think outside the box. I read an article by Neil Patel on How to Increase Website Traffic Without SEO and it included a section on guest blogging. At first, I didn’t really understand why people would give away content that they could use on their own blog. However, after reading that article I now see the value of becoming a contributor for a food blog – it’s a wonderful way to gain exposure and get a share of voice.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM FOOD BLOGGERS LIKE YOU

If you’re keen on becoming a guest blogger, then get in touch so we can discuss it further. I’m rather picky with content, so I have developed a few guidelines which need to be accounted for prior to your submission. Scroll down further to view these. Other than that, I look forward to some interesting and different recipe features!

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO FEATURE AS A GUEST BLOGGER ON JUST COOK KAI?

ARTICLE LENGTH

The length of your article should be a minimum of 500 words. It should be written in English and spellchecked using Grammarly. This is to ensure it doesn’t contain any grammatical errors. Please be conscientious to punctuation and the overuse of the same words.

ORIGINALITY

We do not accept duplicate content. This means that your article needs to be 100 % unique. It may not have featured anywhere else (whether your own or someone else’s website. Please note that I will use a plagiarism checker on all articles submitted to ensure they are unique.

RELEVANT

As I’m looking to expand this blog into containing more than just recipes, I welcome articles on various cooking related topics. So if you’re into product reviews, health, and fitness, or have some excellent nutritional advice, I want to hear from you. I also love featuring restaurants, so if you’re keen on sending in an opinion on a new restaurant, this is the place for it! As long as you follow the rules, I’m here to consider your submission.

FOOD BLOGGER TOPIC IDEAS

Below are some ideas or topics you can consider submitting:

  • Share the cookbooks you’re crushing on at the moment.
  • Sharing your own cooking/baking recipes with us.
  • Review a local restaurant/bakery
  • Product Reviews
  • Food or Recipe from around the globe
  • Catering for special events
  • Dieting
  • Healthy Living
  • Nutrition

Articles that usually do really well are:

  • “5 reasons to try _________”
  • “Top 5 Restaurants in _____”
  • “Best_____ Recipe”
  • “Top reasons to try _____ food”

If you have any other suggestions, i’m always open to ideas!

QUALITY PHOTOGRAPHS

When you send in your article, be sure to include 2 high-quality royalty-free images that are related to your topic as well. Good websites to get free high-quality images from are www.unsplash.com, www.pexels.com, www.pixabay.com.

HOWEVER – if you are submitting a recipe, then please ensure you are sending high-quality images of each step of the recipe. You will notice that I provide detailed steps with my recipes with high-resolution photographs of each step. It’s crucial to me that the readers get photos of each step as they pass through the recipe. Please note that the images have to be at least 300 dpi. I will reduce the size on my end. Usually, photographs taken with cellphones produce lesser quality images, so please ensure you are using the maximum size when taking images.

Be creative with your photos! Try and take photos with different backgrounds and different angles. Send me as many photos as possible to choose from.
